You chose up to three concepts that I will continue working on.

You chose your final logo. Tell me what you still want to be changed.
I will do up to three small changes. (e.g. colour, size...)

style: digital painting (realism; mostly portraits)

examples:

hyoko-x3.deviantart.com/art/Go…

hyoko-x3.deviantart.com/art/Tr…

fav.me/d2xke6p

hyoko-x3.deviantart.com/art/ra…

prices:

50€ - for a black & white sketch like this one (maybe more finished if you wish): hyoko-x3.deviantart.com/art/ro…

80€ -  for a realistic but pretty rough black & white portrait like this one: hyoko-x3.deviantart.com/art/ra…

for a hyper-realistic, almost photography-like painting in colour:

160€ One character portait/bust shot. Like this one: hyoko-x3.deviantart.com/art/Tr… +110€ for every additional character

220€ One character waist-up. Like this one (only with head :D) fav.me/d3j6dia +160€ for every additional character

280€ One character full body. + 210€ for every additional character

300€+ for anything else. E.g. detailed backgrounds, many other characters, objects, vehicles, buildings, animals etc.

keep in mind: everything depends on the amount of details that you wish to have in your painting. Less detailed could be much cheaper. Don't hesitate, just ask me ;)

drop me a note or something like that

style: traditional media (everything from watercolours/oil/acrylics to pencils and coloured pencils)

hyoko-x3.deviantart.com/art/pr…

hyoko-x3.deviantart.com/art/ma…

hyoko-x3.deviantart.com/art/pe…

prices:

50-100€ for acrylics & oil paint on canvas + material costs (+ shipping if you wish)

30-50€ for markers; coloured pencils; watercolours & ink + material costs (+ shipping if you wish)

(prices depending on detail & complexity)

Fair Trade

5 min read
When you hear the term 'frair trade' the first thing you think of are poor african people that work on their field all day and who don't get enough payment. Products that are sealed with 'fair trade' are a good thing because it is guaranteed that you buy products from people that got a fair payment for their work.

When it comes to design and artwork most people change their mind though, which makes it very difficult for artist's to keep on living. This is a very big problem especially in the deviantart job offers forum. that's the reason why I want to post this in my journal, too (already posted in the forums):

I thought I should post some information that I found about fair payment as many clients seem to think that:
1) artists like to do free work
2) they don't have to live from producing artwork
3) they love to do what they do so they don't need any payment
4) it is the artist's hobby to draw so they will do it for free
5) ... and much more

Since deviantart doesn't take any responsibility for their job offers at all (except for forbidding free commissions/point commissions/spec work in the job offers forum) I thought I'd try to bring some minds to working.

In my opinion this isn't a serious job offers forum, but something for children that have nothing more to do than drawing their little comics for 5$ because they don't have to live from it. It doesn't matter to them that professional artists have to adapt because the clients think that such a low payment is standard. This is the point when deviantart.com should be responsible to share its knowledge about artwork/design business. There are some websites that allow clients to post jobs and artist's/deisgner to apply for it BUT they set guidelines so that everyone is OBLIGATED to 1) set a fair budget and 2) to apply with a minimum proposal for payment (for artists)

I'd like to post some information I found.
For example, there is a german website that allows clients to start CONTESTS (not even real paid work!) that has determined and detailed guidelines about minimum payment for certain kind of jobs. I want to underline that they are only organizing contests. Therefore the payment is still much below under the average payment!!
Since the information is posted in german I will translate it:

Website layout 500,- € (741$)
Corporate Design 300,- € (444,6$)
Logo 200,- € (296,4$)
flyer (a4) 150,- € (222,3$)
advert 100,- € (148,2)
newsletter 150,- € (222,3$)
advertising folder 200,- € (296,4$)
banner 200,- € (296,4$)

Elance is another example for artist’s protection. They ask they clients to set a budget range (depending on job cetegorie) and the artists who aplly are NOT allow to post payment proposals that are below the determined limit!!!

Job Posting Budget --- Proposal Minimum
$50-$500 --- $50
$500-$1,000 --- $350
$1,000-$5000 --- $700
$5,000-10,0000 --- $3,500
$10,000-$25,000 --- $7,000
$25,000-$50,000 --- $17,500
$50,000-$100,000 --- $35,000
Greater than $100,000 --- $70,000

I have to add that I found something really interesting because someone mentioned that it is ok to charge low rates when you're just starting. This is absolutely not right. Here is an example:
average price for a logo lets say 400$
the professional charges 200$ an hour and finishes it in 2 hours.
the newbie will need maybe 10 hours but because he's a beginner he will only charge 40$ per hour.
This way, they both come to 400$ total because of the different hourly wage and different time needed.
(I read this on a design students website)

I hope this helps. I just want to make life eaiser for thos people who have so much work to post their opinion in all the forum posts where the payment hurts.
If you have anymore information about fair payment please post it here and try to keep this alive.
I’ll post this in my journal, too just in case that deviantart deletes my post. This way you will always have a link to post here if some stupid client annoys you

~IMPORTANT~IMPORTANT~IMPORTANT~IMPORTANT~IMPORTANT~IMPORTANT~

this is NOT a place for arguments. I only want to raise the awareness that professional artists have to suffer because some children that don't know how it is to pay for a living work for only a few bucks. This is a very general statement, I don't want to offent anyone but I wanted to make it clear so that everyone understand the message behind it.
If you really think that it is ok that designers have to work for almost nothing although they do a service like all the other people who work do, then please don't comment. you haven't understood the message.
I want fair payment for every kind of business, design shouldn't be an exception!
We enjoy our work, that's not the problem, but we chose this job because we love it, and when we love it so much that we spent many hours of work each day then we don't have the time for other jobs to get a save income. Please try to understand people that have studied for the job they do and the job they love that they are angry about the people who don't respect that that put much effort into their work, too.
